Stocks not in limelight but attracts institutional interest - NRB Bearing

There are many stocks in the market which are not so much traded or discussed in the trading circles but attract a lot of institutional interest. I will run a series on them because this week I do not think there will be lot of low hanging fruits lying in the market. While these are not my recommendations but they can be closely looked at by people wanting to invest in some stocks which might be some good long term picks.

NRB Bearings

NRB Bearings is one of the least discussed auto ancillary stock in the market. The company has performed consistently for last few years. It has been able to maintain an EPS of greater than Rs. 4/- per share for all the years starting 2010. The promoter and FII holding is extremely impressive.

In terms of institutional holdings, HDFC and Religare funds have been extremely positive on this stock (though HDFC has reduced its holding slightly but that can be the case of profit taking).
Also the stock is held by none other than Narayan Murthy's Cataraman Ventures (holding 1.4% approx). Also ICICI Life Insurance holds around 5.6% in the company. With so many reputed investors holding it, the company seems to be in a good space if we assume that these investors have done a proper due diligence before investing in the counter. Also the reputed Nalanda Capital holds around 10% in the stock.

With dividend yield of around 6% it should be attractive for a long term investor to hold this counter as it seems to be on safe ground.
